Manatee Hammock Campground Review – Titusville, Florida

Manatee Hammock Campground is one of the best spots I’ve found to watch a rocket launch—hands down. If you’re looking for a front-row seat to launches at Kennedy Space Center, this place is hard to beat.

Reservations and Campsite Setup

The campground is run by Brevard County, so reservations are made through their website. If you’re trying to book around a rocket launch, plan ahead—it can be tough to get a site when launches are scheduled.

Sites can be a little hit or miss. Some are flat and easy to level, while others take a bit of work. A few spots are tighter than others, so bigger rigs may need to pick carefully.

All RV sites are full hookup, and there are also tent sites closer to the water.

Waterfront Views and Amenities

The waterfront area is the highlight here. There are walking trails, benches to relax, and a fishing pier right on the water. It’s also a great place to just sit back and watch the rockets go up.

There’s a large fenced-in dog run along the water, which is a great bonus if you’re traveling with dogs.

Rocket Launch Views

The campground sits directly across the water from Kennedy Space Center, making it an incredible location for rocket launches. You get a clear, unobstructed view without dealing with the crowds.

If you want to get even closer, the space center is only about a 15-minute drive.

One tip—if you’re planning your trip around a launch, build in extra time. Delays are common, and launches often get pushed.

Location and Nearby Options

  • Publix is about 5 minutes away for groceries

  • Plenty of restaurant options in nearby Titusville

  • Easy access to the Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex

Facilities

The campground has a bathhouse with showers, and overall the property is well maintained.

Final Thoughts

Manatee Hammock Campground is a great mix of convenience, waterfront views, and one of the best rocket launch viewing spots in Florida. It’s not the most level campground out there, but the location more than makes up for it.

If you’re planning a Space Coast trip—especially around a launch—this is a spot worth booking early.
