Welcome to Kamping with Kona, where every mile has a story and every stop brings a new adventure.

I’m Steve, and Kona, my loyal 12-year-old Boykin Spaniel, is my constant co-pilot, tail wagging, nose to the wind, always ready for what’s next.

​

At the end of 2023, I made a life-changing decision. I sold my home and business in Hilton Head Island, South Carolina, traded routine for the open road, and set out full-time in a 2024 Leisure Travel Unity FX. With Kona by my side, we began chasing freedom, simplicity, and the beauty of the unknown.

In 2024 alone, our journey covered more than 42,000 miles, from the turquoise waters of the Florida Keys to the wild beauty of Prudhoe Bay, Alaska. We crossed 26 states, 3 Canadian provinces, and explored 28 national parks, soaking in every sunrise and chasing every new horizon.

​

After a summer beneath Alaska’s endless daylight, the road kept calling. In 2025, we continued our adventure across 28 more states, 24 national parks, and spent the summer immersed in the rugged coastlines and misty forests of Oregon and Washington.

Our goal is simple but ambitious, to visit all 50 states, explore every U.S. National Park, travel through all Canadian provinces, and catch a fish in every state along the way.

Through Kamping with Kona, we share our experiences as full-time RVers, highlighting pet-friendly campgrounds, hidden fishing gems, breathtaking destinations, and the lessons learned from a life lived outdoors, one campsite, one cast, and one sunset at a time.
